Pregnant women can eat deli meat, such as pastrami, if it is reheated until steaming hot or 165°F and if it does not contain nitrates or nitrites, according to Livestrong, the CDC and the FDA. According to the USDA, deli meat may contain Listeria, a harmful bacteria that can cause severe health complications for pregnant women and their babies. Listeria grows on meat at refrigirator temperatures.
